Ended the Texas Revolution when Santa Ana was captive and needed to sign a treaty for his release, he signed it but when he went back to Mexico they said it wasn't fair, Mexico refused to honor the treaty, they claimed it was not valid, US intervention as an attempt to take Mexican Territory, Mexico warned that the annexation of Texas could mean war. |

Winfield Scott is the other general and he took his men across Gulf into Veracruz and made the Veracruz battle, US won, to go east to the fort south of Mexico and they faced heavy opposition and fort Chapultepec was destroyed and was a symbol of victory to Americans won. |

In 1848 they made treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo made to stop the firing and the treaty said that War was over, Texas belongs to US, they gave land west of Texas, US paid Mexico 15 M along with 3M more for the land, and lastly US waived all the claims and agreed to respect the rights of Spanish speaking people. |
