Uno- Cognate
A cognate is a word that looks the same in english as it does in spanish.
Ex: Televisión=Television
Grupo= Group
Dos- Word order
In spanish, "Typically" the adj. comes after the noun!
Tres- Gender
In spanish nouns are classifiedas either masculine or feminine.
Ex: el libro=m
La mesa= f
Quatro- Number
In spanish nouns, Adjs, + person are either singular or plural.
Cinco- Agreement
In spanish, nouns + Adj's must agree in gender and number.
Ex: el libro rojo
Los libros rojos
Seis- Indefinite Article
Indefinite article accompany nouns (go with nuns). They are vague; a, an, some. They have gender and number.
Ex: un libro=a book
unos libros- some books
Una Mesa- a table
Unas mesas- some table
Siete-Definite article
Definite articles go with nouns! They are specific! They have gender and number!
Ocho- numbre/ sustantivo
A noun in spanish is called either a nombre or a sustantivo. IN spanish nouns have gender and number. Nouns will always have an article. Pronouns replace " pronombres".
Nueve- Adjectivos
An adjectivo is a word that modifies (goes with) a noun. It must agree with noun in # and gender.
Diez- Adverbio
An Adverbio modifies a verb, + usually (but not always) and in Mente.(Ly). It describes how an action in being done.
Ex: Quickly: Rápidamente
Once- Verbo
a "verbo" is a word that shows action. In spanish the infinitives end in; ar, er, ir. In spanish they can be conjugated in many tenses. they can be irregular, regular, or stemchanging.
Doce- Tense
Tense is when an action occurs.
Trece- infinitive
An infinitive is the verb in it's pure state. In english infinitive start with "to" + in spanish they're in ar, ir, er.
Ex: to be- ser
to live- vivir
Catorse- to conjugate
to conjugation is to change the verb to show who is doing the action.
Quince-Person
refers to who is doind the action.
