Cognate
|
A word that sounds the same in English and Spanish. EX: Televisión, Grupo, archivo, telefino, repita.

In Spanish, TYPICALLY, the adjective comes after the noun. EX: house white. NOT white house.

In Spanish, Nouns are classified as either masculine or feminine. EX: el libro, la mesa

In Spanish, nouns, adjectives, and person are either singular or plural. EX: Nouns- el libro, los libros. Adjectives- la mesa roja, las mesas rojas.

Agreement
|
In Spanish nouns and adjectives must agree in gender and number. EX: Nouns- M.S. el libro rojo. M.PL. los libros rojas.

Indefinite Article
|
Indefinite articles go with nouns. They are vague= a, an, some. They have gender and number. EX: un libro= a book

Definite article
|
They are specific. They mean "the". They have gender and number. EX: el libro= the book. Los libros= The books.

A noun in spanish is called a nombres, or sustantivos. EX: nombre- Joshue. Pro nombre- La vaca= cow

|
A word that modifies a noun, has to agree with number and gender. EX: Mi actividades favorita.

Adverbios
|
Modifies a verb, and usually ends in mente. EX: Quickly- Rápidamente

Word that shows action. Ends in ar ir er. EX: to swim= nadar. To run- correr

When an action occurs. EX: Mirar- i wached. Preterito- Miré. Imperfect- Miraba

Infinitive
|
The verb in its unchanged or pure state. Infinitives in English start in to. In spanish they end in ar er ir. EX: is= To be.
