What is NMS
neuroleptic malignant syndrome: shown by hyperpyrexia, muscle rigidity, altered mental status, and evidence of autonomic instability (irregular pulse or blood pressure, tachycardia, diaphoresis, and cardiac dysrhythmias).
Side effects of Haldol
tachycardia, hypo and hypertension, frequent EPS, akathisia, dystonia, tardive dyskinesia, tardive dystonia, NMS, hyperthermia, heat stroke
When should haldol be administered cautiously
to patients that have seizures because it can lower the seizure threshold
What should you watch when taking Cogentin with it
Haldol (or other antipsychotics): hyperthermia, heat stroke, paralytic ileus

and dont take with patients with tardive dyskinesia
