Bipolar Disorder--describe
*marked by shifts in a person's mood, energy and ability to function
*characterized by mania, hypomania, depression and concurrent mania and depression with periods of normal functioning in between
*risk for harming self or others
*onset usually before age 30

At least one episode of mania alternating with major depression

Hypomanic episodes alternating with major depression
