Pyramidalis Muscle |
Present in front of the inferior part of the rectus abdominis. May be absent. Originates from the anterior suface of the pubis. Inserts into the linea alba. |

Arcuate line |
Line or cut that rectus abdominis makes to pierce through posterior rectus sheath to allow inferior epigastric artery to enter. Above this line, rectus sheath consists of 2 anterior layers (Aponeurosis, which is sheet-like tendon, of external oblique and anterior layer of the aponeurosis of internal oblique) and two posterior layers (Transversus abdominis aponeurosis and posterior layer of internal oblique aponeurosis). Below this line, rectus sheath has only anterior layers (ext. Obl. Aponeu., Int. Obl. Aponeu. Tran. Abd. Aponeu.). Arcuate line is in the plane of the anterosuperior iliac spine. |
