Ecchymosis

Syncope
Patial or complete loss of consciousness with interruption of awarenesss of oneself and ones surroundings. Occurs do to temporary reduction in blood flow therefore a shortage of oxygen to the brain.
Sytemic
affecting the entire body, a systemic disease such as diabetes can affect the whole body.
Lateral
Refers to the outerside of the body part. It is the side of the body or a body part that is furthest away from the middle of the body.
Whipple procedure
A type of surgery used to treat pancreatic cancer. Here the head or the pancreas, the duodenum, a portion of the stomach, and other nearby tissues are removed.
