what is the first thing you do when arriving to aircraft?
chocks on place, APU area clear, gear doors closed, flaps position, GPU?
When do we do a preliminary cockpit preparation CL?
on first flight of the day for your crew or when there is an aircraft change
What is the position of the EVAC COMMAND switch?
CAPT.... then only cockpit can launch the evacuation aural command.
What is the normal PACK FLOW setting?
LOW always. If required due to hight temperatures, choose HI until temperature decreases.
What is the normal PACK FLOW setting for TO?
OFF
If we arrive to the ACFT and the APU is running... do we still do the APU FIRE TEST?
No... in INDIGO is not requiered
Wich lists are the only ones that aren´t challenge and response?
After TO and After Landing, that will be "Read aloud" by PNF after completion of items
What is the normal possition of the HF override switch?
Should be HF Override, except during refueling (should be OFF)
What is the WX radar setting for TO?
WX+Turb, gaing +8º.
What is the WX radar setting after passing FL150 climb?
Gain to CAL.
What is the WX gain setting when descending bellow FL150?
Gain +8º
When shall we move the ATC transponder from STBY to AUTO?
When cleared to taxi or pushback. As a rule of thumb you can not MOVE without the ATC in Auto.
When shall you set ATC transponder to STBY?
When parked at the bay. No further movement!
When the TCAS shall be set to TA/RA?
Just before entering the RWY . When taxiing through an active RWY on low visibility you may set it also to TA/RA to confirm no traffic on that rwy.
When do you set TCAS to STBY?
When vacating the RWY after landing.
What fields do you need to fill in the ACARS INIT page?
Only the date field to avoid false "COMPANY MESSAGE" displayed on the MEMO.
When and how to request the ATC clearance?
As a general rule, 20 min prior EOBT (depending in situation or airport requirements such Mumbay...). Should be requested by PF with both pilots on their seats to monitor the clearance.
When can you insert just the Trip Wind of the OFP in the FMS?
On short sectors. p.e: less than 2 hours flight
When do you fill forecast winds for cruise, descent and alternate on the FMS?
On longer sectors. P.e: 2 hours or more.
When can we use HISTORY winds?
When flying a reciprocal route. P.e: DEL-KLA-DEL
Who sets the FMS Data on preparation for flight?
PF and will be checked by PNF (discontinuities, lenght, SID...)
What to you set on the Secondary Flight Plan function of the FMS?
Copy the Active and insert an inmediate return to the field (if above landing minima) unless other thing decided.
How should we programe the FMS in case of a steep turn (90º or more) after departure?
a) Select a higher acceleration altitude
b) preset Green Dot Speed on the PERF PAGE until clearing the turn (then press speed manage to resume).
What should be the Engine Out Acceleration Altitude on the PERF TO PAGE?
the higher of:
a) 1500´ AGL
b) whatever depicted in RTOW
NOTE: in case of a published EOSID, use the altitude depicted in the procedure.
What should be the thurst reduction and acceleration altitude set in the PERF GA PAGE?
1000´and 1500´ AGL
Is it necessary to insert the TO SHIFT on the FMS when departing from an intersection?
If shift distance is known, it should be inserted for situational awareness of the pilots. However, aircraft on dual GPS will take it into account.
What should be the selected Altitude in the FCU?
- The cleared altitude/Level given in the ATC clearance.
- If not yet received, the lowest SID altitude if published, otherwise the Transition Altitude UNTIL altitude clearance is received.
If we receive an initial altitude by ATC... who sets it on the FCU?
Always PNF and crosschecked by pilot flying.
Who performs the TO Briefing?
PF
Who will take controls of the ACFT in case of abnormal/emergency situation after TO?
Normally CM1, ONLY when ACFT path is stabilized and upon his request. This point should be recalled in TO briefing.
When and how we will review the rejected TO and pax evacuation procedures?
On the first flight of the day.
Will be a "seat oriented" review of procedures by CM1 and CM2 (taking the hands to the action to be carried out).
What is the normal flap selection for TO?
The lowest available, performance and RWY conditions permiting.
Once the Load Sheet is received... who inserts the data?
CM1 will read the ZFW and ZFWCG to the CM2.
CM2 will insert this figures and read them from the FMS, including TO weight so that CM1 can cross check on Load Sheet.
CM1 then will call out the TOMAC from LS and CM2 will look at the trim wheel for the corresponding TRIM Setting (use UP and DOWN and not + an -) and the will insert it on the PERF PAGE.
When do you select Intercom to INT mode?
Only after engine start. In INT position the ground crew would be on hot line with cockpit and hear all your intercom conversations even without pressing PTT.
When to you accomplish the Flkight control check?
After engine start but prior to TAXI.
once the engines are started... wich value of trim you insert in the Trim Wheel?
Only the CG value NOT THE THS setting to avoid posible confusions with + or -
The CG can be accessed in the Fuel Prediction Page.
When can we request the ground personnel to disconect the equipment and himself prior to taxi?
After completion of the After Start SCAN FLOW (not need to wait till reading the CL)
When do you normally perform the TO CONFIG TEST?
When all items have been done and cabin secure signal is received by CC.
Do you need to conduct a PA check on the cockpit preparation?
Yes. On the first flight of the day. Feed back from Senior CC is required.
As PF, can you do inputs in the MCDU?
Only short inputs, and only above Transition Altitude. Remember GOLDEN RULES: one head up at all times.
When does the MEL commences to be valid?
When ready to taxi. Means that any failure after this moment can be verified in the MEL and doesn´t require a mandatory return to the bay.
