In a power, the number used as a factor. In 10 third, the base is 10. That is, 10 third = 10 X 10 X 10.
exponent
In a power, the number that tells how many times the base is ed as a factor. In 5 third, the exponent is 3. That is 5 third = 5 X 5 X 5.
Powers
Numbers expressed using exponents. The power 3 "2" is read three to the second power ,or three squared.
Squared
The product of a number and itself. 36 is the square of 6.
Cubed
The product in which a number is factor three times. Two cubed is 8 because 2 X 2 X 2 = 8.
