ACONITUM NAPELLUS

(Monkshood)
Relieves "tension of the blood vessels" (the "strictum of the ancients).

First and main remedy in inflammation of windpipe (croup, membranous laryngitis), inflammation of the throat and fauces, and local acute inflammations of all other parts.

Thirst, quick pulse, anxious impatience, unappeasable mental agitation, agonizing tossing about.

Fright combined with vexation (esp. menstruating women).

Vertigo, "to and fro" feeling (esp. while stooping and towards right side).

Staggers while walking.

Giddy obscuration of sight. Distraction when reading and writing by a frequent cessation of the thoughts. Weak memory (sometimes lively memory).
Administered alone without any possibly antidoting substances (including vegetable acids and alcohol).

One dose in 36 - 48 hours (limit of action), but also cure in as little as 4.

Occasionally required in
