Geographic Immobility of Labour:
When potential workers find it difficult to move to the location where the jobs are available.
Causes for Geographic Immobility of Labour:
1 - House price differences between regions in the UK.

2 - Lack of knowledge of available jobs in other regions.

3 - Social reasons such as a partner with a job in the location they currently are, children in school etc.
Methods of correcting the Geographical Immobility of Labour:
1 - Build more houses in the south. This will act as an increase in supply, therefore resulting in prices for houses in the south to fall, making them more affordable for potential work.

2 - Increase the flow of available jobs to areas of high unemployment.

3 - Offer relocation subsidies to those willing to move to areas with potential work.

4 - Improve public transport in order to enable long distance travelling between regions more easily.

5 - Encourage relocation of firms to areas of high unemployment
