Features of BCC

Common above line drawn between angle of mouth & ear lobule. Does not spread through blood or lymph nodes. Non-tender, slow growing,raused & beaded edge. Commonly nodulystic.

Rodent cell

BCC that erodes deeply into adjacent deeper tissues even cartilages or bones.

High risk BCC

BCC near the eye/nose/ear and BCC more than 2cm size.

How to confirm BCC diagnosis?

Central polyhedral cells surrounded by perpendicularly arranged darkly stained columnar cells confirm the diagnosis in biopsy.

Carbuncle feature.

Multiple openings, rosette with ash gray slough.

SCC features

Common in males. Ulcerative lesion with raised & reverted edge; indicated edge & base.

Marjolin's ulcer

Well differentiated SCC occurring in unstable chronic scar is long duration. Common in scars of snake bites, venous ulcer & burns. Locally malignant without nodal spread.
