Possession of Rulebook

All operators must have a copy of the current rulebook in their possession while on duty.

Run Cards

All operators of vehicles who enter the mainline must have a copy of all run cards in their possession during revenue service hours, for that specific day.

Required Items

Everything except SOPs


Includes: required certifications and licenses, current train order and special instructions, fully stocked accident kit, functioning portable radio, and a flashlight in their possession.

Rules knowledge

Ignorance of the rules, procedures, train orders, special instructions, and notices will not be accepted as an excuse for non-compliance or for neglect of duties.

Mainline Track, Auxiliary Track and Yard Track

LCC shall have authority over all rail equipment on the mainline and auxiliary tracks and over any activities which may affect rail operations. The Vehicle Maintenance Duty Chief or designee shall have authority over yard and shop tracks. LCC shall have ultimate authority over all track movements in case of a hazardous condition on any track.

Qualification

No employee shall operate over any portion of the light rail system upon which they have not been trained and certified to operate.

Use of PEDs (Personal Electronic Devices)

While in the cab or operating any equipment, personal electronic devices must be turned off and stowed out of sight. The use of, or appearance of such use, of personal electronic devices and/or personal electronic device accessories is prohibited.

Beverages/Food/Tobacco

Employees are prohibited from smoking, chewing or spitting of tobacco on any LRV and vehicle or in any area designated as a non-smoking area.


.1-Employees shall not have open food or beverages in the cab at any time.

Watches

All employees whose duties affect the movement of trains on the mainline shall have an accurate watch in their possession while on duty.


.1-Operators shall check their watch with the master clock in the Operator's Room before going on duty. If the watch varies by more than 20 seconds, it shall be reset to the correct time.

Sleeping Patrons

Employees should cautiously attempt to wake passengers sleeping on trains without touching them. If unable to waken a sleeping passenger, the employee shall contact LCC for instructions.

PEI

Operators are required to answer PEI calls as soon as safe to do so. The operator shall make at least two attempts to communicate with the affected PEI call prior to closing the request.

Attention to Duties

An employee's primary duty is to maintain rail service focusing on safety, service, and schedule.
