They still go on gentleman's agreement. The don’t like contracts. They feel that foreigner should follow up on what they said.

It is very important to feel accepted by a group, because that is how Japan functions. Outside groups are stigmatized by their outside group status. I know what I am, and I know what you are. Same experiences sharing them is very important to the Japanese.
