Alliteration
The repetition of a consonant sound in consecutive words within a line of poetry.
Alusion
A reference to a person, event, statement found in literature, the other arts, history, myths, religion or popular culture. Because of the connotations they carry, allusions are used to enrich meaning or broaden the impact of statements.
Antithesis
the oppossition of two ideas or elements with in a poem.
Apostrophe
address to an absent or imaginary person. Normally dead

The repetition of similar or identical vowel sounds

Two successive lines of rhyming verse.
Euphemism
an inoffensive or indirect expression that is substituted for one that is considered offensive or too harsh
