osmotic diuretic
filtered but not reabsorbed, increases urine volume without increasing GFR.
USES - lowering intracranial pressure in emergencies, diuretic when patient has low GFR
xipamide
Thiazide diurectic
inhibits Na/Cl transport by competing with Cl-.
side effects - hypokalaemia, low uric acid excretion, high Mg+ excretion
