Comparing light and sound |
Light and sound can both be reflected, refracted and diffracted. Light and sound are both a type of wave. |

Light can travel through a vacuum.

Sound can't travel through a vacuum, it can only pass through a solid and liquid or gas. |

Transparent |
Materials such as glass, clear plastic and water, are transparent. It allows light to pass through without any problems. |

Translucent. |
Allowing light to pass but diffusing it so that people and objects on the opposite side are not clearly visible. It will only let a little bit of light in.

Opaque. |
Cannot see through it at all. It doesn't let any light in what so ever. Its not translucent. |
