What is a METER?
A meter is the basic unit of length in the metric system.
What kind of reference can you make to estimate the length of one meter?
A yard is 36 inches and a meter is 39.5 inches. The meter is slightly longer than a yard.
What is AREA?
Area measures the amount of surface within any enclosed, 2-dimensional shape and refers to the number of square units (meters, feet, centimeters) needed to cover a particular surface.
What is VOLUME?
Volume measures the amount of space occupied by a 3-dimensional object measured in cubic units of length (meters) or cubic units of capacity (liters)
What is a LITER?
A Liter is a standard metric unit of capacity or volume that usually measures the amound of a liquid. One milliliter (0.001 liter) is equal to one cubic centimeter.
What is a HODOMETER?
A Hodometer or a measuring wheel was an instrument used in ancient Rome to measure distance traveled, or mileage.
What is the CELSIUS Scale?
Developed by Anders Celsius, this metric temperature scale is based on the temperature at which water freezes (0) and ranges to the temperature at which water boils (100), given a standard atmospheric pressure.
What is a THERMOMETER?
A thermometer is an instrument used to measure temperature. Often made of glass, a thermometer contains a liquid (such as mercury or colored alcohol) that expands when heated and contracts when cooled.

A clock is any of various instruments for measuring and indicating the passage of time.
What is a CALENDAR?
A Calendar is a table showing th days, weeks and months of a given year.
