What is Militarism?
Building up a country's military. It makes it easier for a country to be ready for war. Makes their neighbors nervous.
What are alliances?
Alliances (friendships) were being formed between countries in Europe due to tension building between other countries. The ally countries would help each other and stand against non allied countries
What is imperialism?
Countries were forming empires by taking over weaker countries. This leads to competition to fight for these weaker countries.
What is nationalism?
A strong pride in one's country. This led to countries getting involved in conflicts to defend their pride and country.
What are two reasons the United States became involved in the European war?
1. The Zimmerman telegragh was intercepted. Germany was trying to get Mexico to attack the U.S. if the U.S. entered the war.
