What is permaculture |
The conscious design and maintenance of agriculturally productive ecosystems that resemble natural ecosystems. Designs are diverse, stable, sustainable and resilient. Permaculture integrates land and people allowing food, energy, shelter and other material/non-material needs to be provided for in a sustainable way. Permaculture is based on 3 ethics and 12 design principles that together function to benefit life in all of its forms. |

Areas that are defined by frequency of use Zone 0: center of activity Zone 1: closest to zone 0 location that requires frequent. attention and needs to be visited often Zone 2: requires less frequent attention/maintenance Zone 3: Maintenance / attention is minimal Zone 4: A semi wild area Zone 5: wild area. No human intervention Consider: -How often you use the area/element -How often you need to access/service the area/element |
