Intent of minimum energy performance. |
Reduce economic and environmental harms by excessive energy use. |
How many options for EA P2 credit? |
Option 1. Whole bldg energy simulation Option 2. Prescriptive compliance to ASHRAE 50% ADVANCED ENERGY DESIGN GUIDE. Option 3. Prescriptive compliance to Advanced building core performance guide. |
Option 1. Whole bldg energy simulation requirements? |
5% improvement for new bldgs. 3% improvement for renovations. 2% for core and shell From basline bldg energy performance using ASHRAE 90.1-2010. |
What energy simulation and saving calculations are based on. |
On energy cost and not the quantity of energy saved. |
What mandatory requirements to be addressed in P2 Min. Energy Performance energy simulations. |
What is Option 2 of EA P2 credit? and what are the requirements? |
The option 2 prescriptive pathway is ASHRAE 50% Advanced Energy Design Guide compliance. If building type and size doesn't meet requirement then option 1 or option 3 to be targeted. |
How ASHRAE 90.1-2010 and ASHRAE advanced Energy Design Guide effect the option 2 and option 3 of EA P2? |
The project must comply with ASHRAE 90.1-2010 requirements for Bldg envelope, HVAC, Service water, heating and lighting. Then meet the requirements of Advanced energy Design guide for HVAC and service water heating equipment. |
What is option 3 for EA P2? |
Prescriptive pathway that first comply with ASHRAE 90.1-2010 for Bldg envelope, HVAC etc and then comply with Core Performance guide. No point is earned if this is option is followed. |
What are the Requirements for option 3, core Performance guide? |
Required to achieve all prescriptive req for section 1 as well as section 2 and three strategies from section 3. At least 3 alternative building configuration must be analyzed to get max. passive reduction of building energy. |
