Social Structure
The basic social organization of a society

In some societies, the individual is the basic building block of social organization (these societies emphasize individual achievements above all else). In other societies, the group is the basic building block of social organization. These societies, emphasize group membership and group achievement above all else.

The extent to which individuals can move out of the strata into which they are born
Caste System

A tendency for people to perceive themselves in terms of their class background

The value systems and norms of a county can affect the costs of doing business in that country. One danger confronting a company that goes abroad for the first time is being ill-informed. To develop cross-cultural literacy. int'l businesses need to employ host-country nationals, build a group of cosmopolitan executives, and guard against the damage of ethnocentric behavior
Ethnocentrism
A belief in the superiority of one's own ethnic group or culture, often result in disregard or contempt for the culture of other countries
