What is Thermodynamics?
the branch of physics concerned with the conversion of different forms of energy.
Zeroeth Law of Thermodynamics is:
If two thermodynamic systems are in thermal equilibrium with a third, they are also in thermal equilibrium with each other.
First Law of Thermodynamics is:
Conservation of energy - You can niether create nor destroy energy. The increase in the internal energy of a thermodynamic system is equal to the amount of heat energy added to the system minus the work done by the system on the surroundings.
Second Law of Thermodynamics is:
Tendency toward Equilbrium - Heat always travels to cold. The entropy of an isolated system not in equilibrium will tend to increase over time, approacging a maximum value at equilibrium.
What is entropy?
(1) Entropy is the ratio of the heat added to the absolute temperature at which it is added for a reversible process.
(2) A measure of the amount of energy in a system that is available for doing work. entropy increases as matter and energy in the universe degrade to an ultimate state of inert uniformity.
