The cattle ranchers need the land left over from the loggers to feed their cows. The believe they need it because that business gets Brazil a lot of money and also is where the U.S. buys inexpensive high-quality beef.
What do the natives want and why do they believe that the land should belong to them?
The natives want to live on the land and they believe it belongs to them because they were there first.
What do the settlers want and why do they believe that the land should belong to them?
The settlers want to settle on the land and they believe that it is theirs because they are Brazilians and the land is in Brazil.
What do loggers want and why do they believe that the land should belong to them?
The loggers want to cut down the trees to make houses and furniture (and money). They believe it should be theirs because it boosts Brazil's economy.
What do rubber-tappers want and why do they believe that the land should belong to them?
Rubber tappers want to collect the sap from trees to make rubber. They believe the land should be theirs because they make money off it and it is completely harmless to the trees.
What do environmentalists want and why do they believe that the land should belong to them?
The environmentalists want to be able to research the plants in the rainforest to find a cure for diseases. They believe that the land belongs to them because their job is very important and in order to succeed in their quest they need the land.
