-Lack of affordable housing = increase in shanty towns in desert with poor conditions.


-Hot dry climate = water is precious resources whilst dev. + population growth has increased the demand, so there is huge investment into desalinisation plants.

-Lots of waste yet not the infrastructure to deal with waste produced.
