What is the Running end?

The part of the line which is used to perform the knot by movement around the standing part.

Describe the standing part

The part of the line which the running end passes to form the knot ; and generally that part which takes all the strain

Describe the tail

The short part of the line which is left outside the knot when tied ; 50cm should be left to prevent unraveling
