Name some good karate etiquette tips for the test:
|
(1) Never turn your back on Shihan or the other black belts.
(2) When Shihan is talking or when not otherwise performing always stand with your hands behind your back. (3) When leaving the mat after performing always bow to Shihan. (4) When someone comments on your performance thank that person. (5) If someone criticizes you for making an etiquette mistake. Apologize. Also, pay attention to such comments. You want to avoid making the same mistake that someone else has already made. (5) When speaking, be polite but also speak loudly. (6) When asked a question always say Yes Sir or Mam. (7) When doing things like single line take down – do not walk between the judges and the people standing in line. (8) When asked to come out to the mat – run at a safe speed. (9) While other people are performing – adults can stand or sit. Children must sit unless they are up next; then, they can stand. While standing you can do light stretching as long as it does not become a distraction. (10) If you make a mistake while performing -- keep going. Also, don't make a face or anything to bring attention to the mistake. Just keep going. (11) Look at the Sensei directly when being talked to. Avoid looking down or around the room. |

Throw an elbow if in close. 7. Make sure you control the distance at the start. 8. Punch to the kidney is good if they turn their back to you. |
