Future Tense: werden + infinitive
The future tense is a compund verb tense with werden as an auxiliary verb in second position of the main clause followed by an infinitive in final position of the clause.

werden (2nd position) + infinitive (final position) = will + infinitive

NB: beware of false cognates, German will = English wants; German wird = English will
Future-time Expressions
German can imply the future by using the PRESENT tense + ADVERB: Die nächste Führung beginnt in zwanzig Minuten, The next tour will begin in twenty minutes.
Future Perfect Tense
werden + past infinitive (past participle + infinitive of its appropriate auxiliary haben or sein):
Bis zum ende dieses Kapitels WERDEN wir die neuen Verbenformen GELERNT HABEN, By the end of this chapter we will have learned teh new verb forms.
Future Tenses used to express Probability
Used with an adverb like wohl, (wohl) schon, or doch. The future tense expresses probability or likelihood in reference to the present, while the future perfect + wohl expresses probability in reference to the past.

Das wird wohl das Ende dieser Arbeit sein, This is probably the end of this work.

Sie werden das Buch von Goethe schon kennen, You prbably (already) know Goethe's book.
Selbst, selber
Used to intensify or emphasize. When selbst or selber FOLLOWS a noun or personal pronoun, translate with himself, herself, itself, themselves, etc.

Der Professor selbst wusste es nicht, The professor himself did not know it.

When SELBST PRECEDES the noun or pronoun it is modifying = even + noun or pronoun.

Selbst die Ärzte standen vor einem Rätsel, Even the doctors were mystified.
