What does Find and Replace do in Word?

Find and Replace helps you find specific words in a word document and replace them with any other word of your choice.

Know how to get to the navigation pane, and what each tab does.

To open the Navigation pane, press Ctrl+F, or click the Find tab; and the Headings tab is a way to keep track of where you are or quickly move your content around. The Pages tab is a way of helping get around pages and find specific ones you search for. Finally, the results tab helps you find texts, comments, pictures, etc.

Portrait vs. landscape orientation.

Portrait and landscape mode are two types of page orientation. The modes can be used to describe printed pages as well as digital photos. Simply put, a page or image displayed in portrait mode is taller than it is wide. Conversely, a page or image displayed in landscape mode is wider than it is tall.

The options for moving an image is the options you make. Therefore, I shall list on how to wrap text for moving an image.




1. Place the insertion point where you want the image to appear.


2.Select the Insert tab on the Ribbon, then click the Pictures command.


3.The Insert Picture dialog box will appear. Select the desired image file, then click Insert.


4.The image will appear in the document.


5.To resize an image, click and drag one of the corner sizing handles. The image will change size while keeping the same proportions. If you want to stretch it horizontally or vertically, you can use the side sizing handles.

How do you get to the Quick Parts button?

To use Quick Parts, first select with your cursor the text or graphic you want to save for later use. Next, click on the Quick Parts button located in the "Text" group of commands on the Insert tab of the Ribbon.

What is an operating system?

The software that supports a computer's basic functions, such as scheduling tasks, executing applications, and controlling peripherals.

What are media players? Can they play things streamed from the internet?

A media player is a computer program for playing multimedia files like videos movies and music which means they can also stream videos and music online. Media players display standard media control icons known from physical devices such as tape recorders and CD players.

What is a kernel? What is it’s role in an operating system?

The most basic level or core of an operating system of a computer, responsible for resource allocation, file management, and security. The kernel is a computer program that manages input/output requests from software and translates them into data processing instructions for the central processing unit and other electronic components of a computer. The kernel is a fundamental part of a modern computer's operating system.

Is microsoft word utility or application software? In one sentence, what does it do?

Microsoft is a system software and application software. Microsoft is a graphical word processing program that users can type with. It is made by the computer company Microsoft. The purpose of the MS Word is to allow the users to type and save documents. Similar to other word processors, it has helpful tools to make documents.

Sizing handles are the small circles at each corner of the selection boxes and in the center of each side. You can find them at the corners of an image after you click on the image.
