Symbolic - What's most important about any even in an org is not what happened, but what it means

describes a holistic and analitical approach to solving complex problems that includes using a systems philosophy, analysis, and management

What are the three general classifications of organization structures?

Functional, project, and matrix

Explain the three general classifications of organizational structures

Functional - Managers or VP's report to the CEO


Project - Program managers report to the CEO


Matrix - Personnel report to both functional manager and one or more project managers; this is a blend of functional and project

What is stakeholder management?

Basically, knowing everyone who is or may be affected by the project, or is involved in the project and taking care of their concerns

What's is the project life cycle and what is it made up of?

a collection of projects phases; Concept, Development, Implementation, Close-out

Explain the phases of the project life cycle

Concept - develop a business case, describe need, sketch WBS


Development - develop more thorough cost structure and WBS


Implementation - nearly completely accurate cost, deliver required work, provide performance reports


Close-out - Work completed, some sort of customers acceptance of the entire project
