Pallor, Glossitis, dyspnea, tachycardia, weakness, hypesthesia, parasthesias, disturbances of movement and coordination

Low H & H, high MCV, and Eosinophilia

What other deficiencies will lab values show?
|
Low B-12 and Folate

What diagnostic lab is definitive for diphyllobothriasis?

Positive Stool for O & P

What is the treatment for Diphyllobthriasis?
|
Praziquantel (Biltricide), and vitamin supplementation in severe cases

What are the catch phrases from the case study?
|
1. Fatigue, diarrhea, and numbness of extremities, 2. immigrant from Russia (had inadequate medical care), 3. Tachycardia and decreased DTR's, 4. CBC showing megaloblastic anemia, 5. Positive stool for O & P
