You must make a good faith effort to resolve the conflict. Whatever resolution you come to must be consistent with the principles and standards set forth in the code of ethics.

You should NOT violate a law. Make known your commitment to the code of ethics and take steps to resolve the conflict in a responsible manner and then uphold ethical standards to the greatest extent possible while working towards ensuring laws meet ethical requirements
