Science
A process that uses logic, observation and prior knowlege that doesn't neccisarily involve labatory experiments.
Scientific Method
A process of doing science.
Observation
Something you tetect in your enviorment using your sences.
Purpose
You must ask a question about something you want to figure out about an observation.
Hyphthesis
A testable answer to a question based on logic, prior knowlege and evidence.
Experiment
Testing the hypthesis by collecting and recording data.
Analysis & Conclusion
Evaluating the data you have found to determine whether the hypthesis you have made was correct.
Repeat
If your data does not support your hypthesis you must look for a new one. If you data does you must repeat to make sure.
Theory
Is backed by a huge amount of evidence and has been tested many times by many people.
Wuantitive Observation
Involve taking measurments such as taking measurments or masss. Anything with numbers
Qualittive Observations
Any time you describbe somethking such as color, smell, feel, texture, ect.
Direct Observations
Something you can see
Inderect Observations
Sopmething you detect with your sences other than sight
inferences
A reasonable observation based on pror knowllege and observations
Variables
Two or more conditions that can changeduring an experiment
Independent Variable
A variable that you can change and have direct control of
dDependent Variable
The variable that changes as a result of the independent variable.
Controlled Experiment
And experiment that tests the one independent variable at a timeand is a researchable attempt to keep all other indepentd variable consistant.
Control Group
When the indepnedent vairable is not changed to provide a comparison.
Experimental Group
The indepnedent variable is changed and the results are compared to the control group.
Metric Sysem
A universal system of measurments used all over the world
Meter
A meausurment to measure length and a meter stick or meter ruler is used
Litere
A measurment to measure volume and a graduated cylinder or beaker is used
Gram
A measurment to measure mass and a scale or balance is used
