Hemostatics
Any herb that stops bleeding.
There are four categories of hemostatics. What are they?
Astringent hemostatics,Blood cooling hemostatics, Unobstructing hemostatics Channel warming hemostatics
when are Astringent hemostatics used?
Used for most types of bleeding problems, they are especially good for bleeding caused by Qi or Yang deficiency
When are Blood cooling hemostatics used ?
These are used where heat in the blood causes bleeding.
When are Unobstructing hemostatics used?
These stop bleeding by removing obstruction from the channel
When are Channel warming hemostatics used?
These stop bleeding by warming the channels after they contract or spasm when exposed to cold.
Note: Cold within the body causes contraction in body
What is done to Hemostatics in order to stop bleeding?
Hemostatic herbs are often charred to stop bleeding.
