LC what is it?

An independent law reform body set up but the LC Act 1965.


Government funded £4 million a year.

LC who operates it?

5 commissioners


1 chair person, who is a high court judge appointed by the ministry of justice.


4 experienced lawyers and academics. Each supported by a team of barristers, solicitors draftsman, researchers and administrators.

LC what does it do?

Keep under review of all law.


Codify, consolidate, repeal, simplify and modernise law.
