hypersecretion of water and chloride ion and a massive diarrhea... death from hypovolemia

stool cultures + for Vibrio cholerae

tx- tetracycline, amp, choloramphenicol, tmp/smx
tetanus
clostridium tetani spores

jaw and neck stiffness, dysphagia, irritability, hyperreflexia and muscle spasms (esp in jaw/face)
