What is an indirect object?
|
Precedes the direct object and tells to whom or for whom the action is for and who is receiving the direct object. There must be a direct object. Always a noun or pronoun which in NOT part of a prepositional phrase. Usually found with verbs of giving or communicating like give, bring, tell, show, take or offer. In English it is expressed with the preposition to however in German it is expressed with the Dativ case.
