IM procedure sequence
1.Cleanse area with alcohol, allow drying, then pull skin down or to one side about one inch with non-dominant hand

2. Dart the needle into the tissue at a 90 degree angle

3. Aspirate far at least 5 seconds, if no blood is aspirated, inject medication, 10 seconds per milliliter

4. Once medication has been
instilled, wait 10 seconds before withdrawing the needle at the same angle it was inserted

5. Apply gentle pressure at site to dry
