What are the investigations for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis?
Xray - ground glass appearance, reticulonodular shadowing, honeycomb lungs
CT - Bilateral changes, honeycomb, thick walled cysts
Respiratory function tests - reduced lung volume, FEV/FVC ratio normal to high, peak flow normal
Blood gases - arterial hypoxaemia, ventilation perfusion mismatch, normal or low PCO2
Blood tests - ESR and Ig mildly elevated
Bronchoalveolar lavage - increased number of cells
