Commercial Invoice

Format is the same as for an invoice except that it does not show the prices and it shows how the goods are packed.

Form required by the US government for most export shipments. Supplanted by the Automated Export System. Convenient worksheet that you can use to develop the information before you file, or to use in faxing the complete information to your freight forwarded.

Shipper's Export Declaration

Sometimes requested by an importer overseas. Usually a generic form readily available from supply houses that specialize in international documents.

Certificate of Orgin
|
|
Require that some of the documents be sent to their consulate in the United States for approval.
Usually, the invoice and certificate of origin, and possibly the packing slip, need to be legalized. Normally the importer's broker advises him that a shipment requires _______ and he inserts that requirement in the letter of credit. |
