1. During the Summer and early fall of 1962, it was made apparent that Cuba was building air power.
2. In response, in Summer and early fall of 1962, OPLAN 312-62 formed.
3. The plan involved 500 tactical fighter aircraft and carrier aircrafts striking Cuba’s offensive weapons.

8. Status of readiness includes: SAC (Strategic Air Command) is maintaining 1/8 airborne alert and has implemented its force dispersal plan.

9. Status of readiness includes: Air forces involved in CINCLANT OPLAN 312-62 in daylight hours can respond for selective attack in graduated increments from two to twelve hours,
