Internal Inercoastal
(Lateral Middle)
Attaches between the ribs. Breath in - helps lift the rib cage, also supports vertebrae during respiration. Middle muscle of inercostal muscles. Muscle fibers go in the direction of the front exterior of the body to the spine.
Innermost Inercostal
(Lateral Internal)
Attaches between the ribs. Breath in - helps lift the rib cage, also supports vertebrae during respiration. Deepest muscle of inercostal muscles. Muscle fibers go in the direction of the neck to pelvis, only about half the rib cage out.
Diaphragm
(Lateral Internal)
