What are the two different methods of cracking? |
1) It is a thermal decomposition reaction. Heat to vaporise the long the hydrocarbon. Vapour is passed over a hot powder aluminium oxide (catalyst).
2) vaporise the long hydrocarbon and mix with steam, then heat them to a very high temperature (this is steam cracking)
