By 1830s, slavery contributed to the rebellion in Texas. Was in Mexico, but in Mexico, slavery was illegal so they refused any more Americans to immigrate to Texas. Texans captured San Antonio and formed their own government. Then, the Alamo killed everyone inside and the Republic of Texas was born.

New law which nullified the federal tariff or tax on important goods. The law (in South Carolina) was actually illegal under the US constitution. To put a halt to the rebellion, the nullification crisis. Jackson almost sent in the troops, but decided to compromise instead.
