Coronal Plane

Separating the body so there is a front and back plane.

Also called the "Frontal plane"

The Anterior surface of the body and Posterior surface of the body.

Also called Ventral and Dorsal

Sagittal Plane

Separating the body so that there is a Left and Roght portion.

Also called the "Lateral Plane"

LEFT and Right

In reference to the PT's Left and Right.

Midsagittal

Separating the body into Equal Left and Right halves. The Nose and Navel are found among this line.

Separating the body so that there are equal Top and Bottom halves.

Superior and Inferior. In reference to the PT's Head and Feet. Superior being closer to the head and Inferior meaning closest to the feet.
