Rescuing Denmarks Jews
The king of Denmark wore a star of David to show unity and support for the Jews in Denmark. They were also alerted when the Nazi's were going to be rounding up Jews and the people of Denmark took all the Jews to sweden and ran their businesses and took care of their homes until they were able to return after the war. Only 400 danish Jews died.

Why Auschwitz wasn't bombed
Some said that it wasn't bombed because it wasn't a strategic military target and that the best way to end the war and save more Jewish lives was by bombing the most strategic targets. Other said that they did not have the capabilities to bomb Auschwitz. but it is clear that they were bombed because the United States did not want to make it a Jewish war.

"inner circle" last days
Hitler spent his last days in the Fuehrer bunker with Goebbels. Speer encouraged Hitler to make peace w/ the West and focus on War w/ Russia. Goring sent a telegraph asking Hitler that as the second in command if he could assume power since it was clear that Hitler was unable to perform his duties in the bunker. Himmler publicly assummed power and said that Hitler would be dead in a few days.
Goebbel's Victory and Destruction speech
This was a 2 and a half hour long speech that told the Germany people that if they lost to Russia that they effects would be devastating. He encouraged all the men to take double shifts in the factories. He asked women to start working and the factories and asked that 10 year old boys be sent into battle.
Eli's first night at Auschwitz
His first night felt like it lasted forever. After his mother and sister were sent off to the gas chamber he and his father had their head's shaved, their clothes taken and were tattoed with numbers that replaced their names.
