What is a 'Cold War'?

Communism wants the distribution of wealth and to take from the wealthy and give to the poor. Capitalism believes in free enterprise and democracy, and didn't want to take money from the wealthy.

was a meeting between Winston Churchill, Stalin and Roosevelt in February 1945, to discuss the re-establishment of the nations destroyed by Germany. It focused on the punishment of the defeated Germany.

was a meeting between Churchill, Stalin and Truman on 8th May 1945 to negotiate terms for the end of WW2. The Potsdam Conference divided Germany into 4 zones, one for each allied nation (USA, Soviets, Britain and France.)
What happened when Germany was divided?
Germany and its capital, Berlin, was divided into 4 zones. The Americans, British and French ruled the eastern side, the Soviet ruled the West side.

Due to Britain's inability to continue paying for troops prompted Truman to develop a generous aid policy, with USA willing to provide financial aid to any country who wanted to resist communism. The US wanted to play a dominant role in world politics.
