Trojan War

- the story of this war was in the Iliad and the odyssey by Homer

1. What effect did geography have on Greece?
Due to Greece being so mountainous they had city-states instead of one big central government
2. Compare Athens and Sparta in three areas
Government: The Spartans had a government called an oligarchy and they created laws that every Spartan voted on and the Athenians had a government but when creating laws only male citizens that have completed a training camp could vote.

Values: Sparta was dedicated to their army/war and Athenians didn’t have much of an army that was very successful and practiced allot and Athens valued learning art and philosophy.
Legacy: Sparta was for their military battle of thermopile / Athens was famous for democracy art learning and architecture

Winning the war with Persia.

After the wars the Greeks felt proud of them selves especially in Athens the artist poets and sculptures and architects developed a culture that was unique to Greece
