The 1967 Referendum |
- Harold Holt created the idea - The Referendum which was proposed to include aboriginal people in the census and allow the commonwealth government to make laws for aboriginal people. - Took place on May 20th 1967 - 90% of Australian agreed but it took 5 years for actions to occur. |
