Civil war: USA War goals?
To exhaust the conderates will to fight so they could win the war.

To exhaust the Unions will to fight so they could win the war.
Battle of Shiloh?
Happened in April 1862. It was deadly (~20,000 deaths in 2 days) Artillerys and guns adv. tremendously. union victory. This made both sides realize that this war would not end quickly.
Battle of Antietam?
September 1862.Bloodiest battle of the civil war.Victory for the union. They pushed the confederates back across the Potomac River and Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation sept. 1862

Went into effect Jan. 1 1863. Rebellious states had 100 days to rejoin the union and keep their slaves. After 100 daya , slaves in rebellious states would be free. The document did not end slavery

Turning Point of the Civil War.1st battle in the Union territory. Union victory. The Confederates planned to attack the union to take attentino away from Va. If they could have won it would have possibly ended the war.

15th Amendment?
The right of citizens of the US to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the US or any state on account of race, color etc.
(if women were in included it woulld not have passed.)

More black men were voting than whites.

Applied to blacks and whites.people who owned land rented to people who didnt and they shared crops.

According to big buisness, as long as some workers will work for the wages industrialists want to pay, wages will not increase.Immigrants took the jobs of those who did not like the wages.
